Medical Weight Loss
People with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher are considered obese. The term "obesity" is defined simply as too much body fat.
Nearly 70% of American adults are either overweight or obese. Obesity increases you're risk for health problems, including high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. It's also a major cause of gallstones, osteoarthritis and respiratory problems
Losing weight (lowering your BMI) can mean that your body more efficiently circulates blood, your fluid levels are more easily managed, you have more energy, you have less joint pain, and you are less likely to develop diabetes, heart disease, certain cancers and sleep apnea. Losing just a few pounds can provide you with cardiovascular benefits!
